Scope, provider and contact
This policy applies to the standalone PilotFlight app for iOS and iPadOS; separate notices may apply to other products. PilotFlight is offered by Yiğit Can Akıncı under the AKINCI JET brand. For privacy requests, email yigitcan.akinci@gmail.com. Postal address: Karslılar Mah. 82021 Sk. No: 4, 01170 Çukurova, Adana, Türkiye.
Summary
PilotFlight does not create user accounts. The app has no advertising, third-party analytics SDK or cross-app tracking. Flight plans, flight logs, cockpit notes, user markers, aircraft settings and downloaded offline maps are primarily kept in the app’s local container on your device.
Location and background location
With your permission, PilotFlight uses precise location to show ownship on an open Live Map or Flight Deck screen, find nearby airports, produce route guidance and flight measurements, record the track of a flight you start, and optionally attach a position to a cockpit note.
Background location updates are enabled only when you explicitly start a flight recording, resume a recovered flight, or deliberately arm automatic flight recording. PilotFlight does not continuously request background location outside that active or armed workflow. Background updates stop when you end the flight or disarm automatic recording. Flight tracks are stored locally; PilotFlight does not upload them to its own account or server.
Motion and barometric data
On supported iPhone and iPad models, motion and barometric sensors may support altitude and vertical-speed indications while the app is open or during an active flight workflow. Sensor data is not used for advertising, tracking or profiling.
AviationWeather.gov queries and search history
PilotFlight communicates directly with AviationWeather.gov (AWC) for METAR, TAF, SIGMET, AIRMET, PIREP, airport and runway context. Information sent as needed may include ICAO codes you enter, airport identifiers on a route, report filters, a reference airport, and a geographic bounding box derived from current location for a nearby-airport search. AWC can also receive ordinary network data such as IP address, request time and user agent.
Requested identifiers, results and a short-lived cache may remain in memory while the app runs. If you choose to save an airport, user marker or flight plan, the relevant identifiers and coordinates become part of your local library. PilotFlight does not build a user profile from these searches on its own server. AWC processing is governed by its Privacy Policy.
Online and offline maps
Online map views use Apple MapKit. Apple may process map requests and related device or network information under its own privacy terms.
The offline map catalog and static map files are downloaded over HTTPS from akincijet.com. A download requests the fixed package file you select; PilotFlight does not add your route or location to the map-host request. The web host may nevertheless create ordinary security/access logs containing an IP address, request time, requested file, transfer status and user agent. These logs are kept only as needed to deliver and secure the service, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized.
Downloaded packages, temporary download/resume data and the package index are stored in local Application Support on the device. The offline-map directory is excluded from backup. You can delete packages from the Offline Maps screen.
Subscriptions and payment
PilotFlight has no free tier. All app features require an active monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscription. Eligible new subscribers may receive a one-month free introductory trial. Unless canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the selected plan begins at its localized standard price and renews automatically. Apple determines offer eligibility and processes trials, purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds and payment information through the App Store. PilotFlight uses only the StoreKit product, offer-eligibility and transaction/subscription state needed to present the offer and determine whether access is active. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
Information stored locally on the device
Flight plans and routes, favorite airports, user markers, aircraft profiles, personal minimums, cockpit notes, flight logs, flight-track samples, active-flight recovery records, offline maps and app preferences may be stored in the local app container. Local container data other than offline map packages may be included in a device or iCloud backup depending on your Apple backup settings. PilotFlight does not sync this library to a PilotFlight account.
Tracking, advertising, analytics and sale
PilotFlight does not show ads, use an advertising identifier, include third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, track you across other companies’ apps or websites, or sell or share personal information for targeted advertising.
Retention and deletion
Local records remain on the device until you delete them in the relevant screen or delete the app. Offline map packages can be deleted individually in Offline Maps. Deleting the app removes its local container; Apple-managed backups may remain according to your own backup configuration and retention settings.
If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and attachments you choose to send. Support correspondence is kept only as needed to resolve the request, maintain security, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized. Apple, AWC and hosting providers apply their own retention rules to records they control.
Your choices and rights worldwide
You can deny or later disable location, Precise Location and motion permissions in iOS or iPadOS Settings; dependent features will be limited. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, obtain a copy, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, request portability, withdraw consent, and complain to or appeal before an appropriate data-protection authority. This includes applicable rights under Türkiye’s Personal Data. Submit a request to yigitcan.akinci@gmail.com.
Because there is no account or PilotFlight server library, we cannot remotely view or erase information that exists only on your device; manage it in the app or by deleting the app. For information controlled by Apple, AWC or a hosting provider, you may need to contact that provider.
International transfers, security and children
Apple, AviationWeather.gov and web-hosting services may process information outside your country, including in the United States, under their terms and applicable transfer safeguards. PilotFlight uses HTTPS for supported network requests and iOS and iPadOS data-protection mechanisms, but no storage or transmission method is risk-free. PilotFlight is a professional aviation utility and is not directed to children.
Changes and terms
We may update this policy when the app or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Use of PilotFlight is also subject to the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (EULA).
